This article describes the Narrow Gauge Railway engine characters that have appeared in the television series Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. The engines are described in numerical order within each section and then in order of debut appearance. Skarloey is the oldest engine on the narrow gauge Skarloey Railway. Skarloey has appeared in both the television series and The Railway Series books. He is painted red with white stripes, and sports the number 1 as well as nameplates bearing his name on both sides.

The narrow-gauge railway has some contact with The Fat Controller's standard-gauge engines mostly at Crovan's Gate , however the location of the railway often leaves the narrow-gauge engines in relative isolation. Victor is a dark red Hispanic tank engine in charge of the Sodor Steamworks. He supervises all the engines who journey in and out of the workshops, as well as Kevin , the clumsy yard crane. Victor always has a helpful, constructive disposition and is good-humored with everyone he meets, [1] he speaks with a Cuban accent and spoke Spanish when he first came to Sodor. Victor was introduced in the feature-length special Hero of the Rails ; the show's staff were researching real-life engine workshops as inspiration for the Steamworks when they learned that one had a self-contained narrow-gauge line, used to transport parts internally. The staff decided they wanted an engine with a cab, and chose as a prototype ALCo 's , which was specially built for a sugar plantation line in Cuba ; [1] some artistic licence was taken, as the original is a standard-gauge locomotive.

I also made a Tugs one. So, now enjoy my silly parody of SundayHaw, and have a great week. If you would like to order a painting in this style, I am currently open for commissions of portraiture, landscapes, critters, and industrial tech! Inquiries can be sent to WingsAndStringsCommissions gmail. October 6th was the 1 year anniversary of the DownWithSamson movement and I accidentally stayed up all night partying on Twitter but it was worth it tbh. A quick bit of concept art for my upcoming webcomic, featuring a magnificent fire-breathing leviathanů and also a dragon. Negative Number

These lines and the engines that work on them are some of the oldest on the island. Looking back, I DID notice the odd red coach in Sir Handle's train and the taller load in Duncan's when I was young, but I would have never clued in that they meant something. This show is just a masterpiece. Thank you so much for sharing all of your fascinating facts! Honestly I don't believe in the Duke-Smudger-Duke repaint theory Well, as we learned he was indeed repainted back to Duke. And the orange in the photo, as I suspected, was the work of lighting distortion.
